Injiri, meaning ‘real India’, is a one of a kind clothing brand, the core essence of which is slow fashion. Launched in 2009 by Chinar Farooqui, Injiri believes in the beauty of hand weaving processes. Curating an aesthetic around absolute simplicity, and working within the limitations of textile techniques, the brand celebrates the living tradition of crafts in India and has found resonance with aesthetes across the world. The design process centres around working closely with handloom weavers and their textile vocabulary, across various parts of India - and being constantly engaged in conversations with these keepers of intangible human heritage. Design stories start with curating and studying old pieces of textiles which showcase the crafts in their purest forms.

RASĀ
"The word RASĀ means an emotional state of mind where happiness is a common emotion to revert to in a post-pandemic world. An emotion that we cling to with childhood memories, the moments crafted by artists and inspirations, things that are nebulous but mean so much to us in the present. "
This Injiri Collection includes the traditional Jaipuri block printing techniques while incorporating artistic inspiration and focusing on the natural world. This includes flora and fauna, nautical stripes that meet an indigenous warp of Bhujodi, and dark and light warp and weft that tell the West Bengali Jamdani story. To capture the aesthetic experience of the person who uses the textile, familiarity, and things that make them happy when they think of summer and make them smile.

Utsav
Utsav is derived from the Sanskrit word, Utsava, generally meaning a festival or celebration or any joyous occasion. The colourful and gentle spring summer Utsav Collection carries the meaning of delight, merriment and pleasure.
TEEJ
The TEEJ Collection in summery uplifting colours of greens, yellows, pinks and blues. A celebration of the bounty of nature, arrival of clouds and rain, greenery and birds—a welcome to the monsoon season.

Taan-Baan
A beautiful collection of organic handloom cotton, mixing traditional Indian techniques of extra weft from Bhujodi, and Jamdani of West Bengal, along with extensive clamp dying, Taan-Baan is a celebration of colour.
The term `taan-baan’ signifies the threads that constitute a fabric and relates to the warp and weft of a handloom. As Injiri's work centres around the handloom, a name that celebrates the idea of the loom itself, speaks to this Collection.
Neel
The word nila means blue in Sanskrit. The neel collection is centred around the colour INDIGO - a natural blue dye extracted from the Indigoerfa tinctoria plant. It has been several years in the making by Chinar Farooqui, piecing together different textiles from different craft techniques, in particular the jamdani weaving technique.

Shekhawati
The Shekhawati collection draws inspiration from the vibrant hues and captivating visual elements of Rajasthan, the very place where Chinar spent their formative years. Aptly named after the culturally affluent region of Rajasthan, Shekhawati, renowned for its splendid architecture and intricate frescoes, the collection's essence is further accentuated by its photography amidst this exceptionally beautiful and distinctive setting.
Crafted from textiles meticulously woven in Gujarat and Kashmir, the collection introduces a novel artistic touch. It proudly showcases the innovative incorporation of Ikkat and tie-resist techniques on yarns prior to weaving, a remarkable first for this ensemble.
